[computer-tech-support: 7679] Re: Promise EIDEMAX

I am using MS-DOS 6.22. I tried DOS 6.22 FDISK, Win98se (DOS 7)
FDISK, and GDISK. No matter what combination of EIDEMAX jumper
settings I tried, I could only access 504 MB as long as the true CHS
parameters of the disk were selected in CMOS.

When "not installed" or "type 1" is selected in CMOS, the EIDEMAX
detects the true CHS parameters of the disk, and thus I can access the
entire 3 GB of the disk.

According to the box labels, no drivers are required for the EIDEMAX
card to work with DOS. Incidentally, this is an EIDEMAX, not EIDEMAX
II.
