You could also try hook up your computer to another monitor before you do all that, Just to confirm its not your screen that has the problem. If everything loads well on the other monitor, then your's needs to be replaced. If its not loading your OS, then you need to try the above options.--

It may happen you have a Ram problem.first clean the Ram pins with a rubber and then insert it in another slot,before that make sure that your Video cord that connects the monitor and cpu is correctly plugged in.if the two things doesn't work you may have to replace RAM or Motherboard .
