[Solved] IPConfig Error

Posted: 03 Sep 2010 05:30 AM PDT

One of our readers was facing this problem that whenever he types IPConfig in the Run to get the IP details, an error message comes up saying

The request is not supported.
Please contact Microsoft support services for futher help.
Additional information: Unable to query routing information
.

This IPConfig error that comes up is a NIC problem and can be solved easily. The cause of the problem is the malfunctioning of the TCPIP.SYS file which is present in our drivers directory.

Solution:

You just need to replace your old TCPIP.SYS file with a new one that is working fine and reboot the system. The file is located at the following location

\windows\system32\drivers

Either get the file from one of your friends or just download a clean copy from the following location. Don't forget to reboot the system.

Download TCPIP.SYS
