No, this sounds more like a network protocol or maybe firewall issue.
Did you check the network adapters - the installed protocols such as
file and printer sharing, and your firewall permission. Without
knowing the config of the PC I could also guess that it might be a
security policy issue (though not likely if it works through the wired
network), or network policy issue.
Also, you had not mentioned what the error indicated - access denied,
etc.
If access denied... did you look in the (server machine)'s security
log to see the reason for access denied. I have seen similar type
problems when the number of configured users (for access to the share)
was too low.
Also, (trying to remember but is is kind of vague at the moment)
Quickbooks might have some type of config for number of allowed users
because (I believe - this is vague remembrance also since it has been
about 6-7 years since I worked with QB Pro - multi-user) it does have
a lock file similar to MS Access which keeps track of connected users.
