I'll also have 2 new hard disks on the new system, one with Linux OS,
the other with Windows Vista.

So what I gather is that to copy files over from the old Windows hard
disk, I should physically connect the old Windows hard disk, and make
sure it's not in the boot-up list in the BIOS. Then after booting into
the new Windows hard disk, I should see the old drive under My
Computer, and then I can simply copy the old files over to the new
hard disk.

Is this the same for the Linux hard disks? Will I see the old Linux
hard disk under File System after booting into the new Linux hard disk?
