[computer-tech-support: 7973] Internet

Hi, and thanks for the help on my last question. Here is another one,
i use a USB mobile modem so i don't use the internet that much. When
ever i connect to the net windows downloads updates automatically, and
this is costing me. When i change the settings on the control panel so
that windows can only ask for permission before downloading them and
yet again it went and downloaded them again. After that i changed the
settings to don't get updates automatically and choose the option to
get them myself, and yet again it went and got them again. So how can
i make my computer not get updates automatically?
