If you have the license available then using a standard image is not
illegal, as long as each machine has a license associated with it.

Microsoft has great write-ups and so do a lot of websites on the net.

But you should be able to get XP SP3 media from where you purchased
your machine.

Either that or use GHOST or something similar, I image my machines in
under 3 hours, and that is with around 20GB of extra programs, etc.
