[computer-tech-support: 8080] Re: Run Command After Monitor Powers Down

To be completely honest, I was 99.99% certain no one would
reply to this post. Thank you Mohammad AbuShady, V A, and
KwikOne!

If an app or script is impossible to find while googling, there is
usually a very good reason. I can see now that what I was asking
for would be very difficult to implement.

Sometimes a problem can resolved through the back door, if you
know what I mean. For instance, you create a script that uses
a file as a placeholder. The file actually does nothing. When
the file is moved, deleted, or recreated the script takes some
action. Usually in the form of an "If" statement.

I was just thinking, what do you see when the monitor powers
down? It might be possible to create a script that simply responded
to a completely black screen. This would not be dependent on
Windows power options.

I started using computers before there was this remarkable GUI we
all have today. Scripts were absolutely necessary all those years
ago when the only thing you saw on your monitor was a primitive
dos-like environment.

Thanks again guys!
