- Apple II Plus Computer Hacked as a USB Keyboard! - 2011-06-07 10:47:09-04
Maybe you have a bunch of old Apple computers lying around your house? Why not hack your Apple II Plus computer as a USB keyboard? Connecting an Apple II keyboard to a computer with USB is surprisingly easy with a Teensy board. Arduino (Teensyduino) code is available at https://github.com/afiler/keyduino . The Apple II uses an ASCII keyboard, which means that rather than returning scan codes, it returns a 7-bit ASCII value. This also means you can't read the state of modifier keys like shift or control independently. via hackaday This post Apple II Plus Computer Hacked as a USB Keyboard! was originally from zedomax.com apple ii plus, Computer, Computer, Computer Keyboard, DIY, Featured, Featured DIYs, Featured Gadgets, Featured Hacks, Gadgets, Hack, hacked, HOWTO, Projects, usb keyboardThis post Apple II Plus Computer Hacked as a USB Keyboard! was originally from zedomax.com
- DIY Electric Diwheel Circular Vehicle Will Make Your Puke! (Literally) - 2011-06-07 12:59:34-04
We’ve see a handful of great custom vehicles but this one may be the most fun, it’s like having your own amusement park encased in two wheels. The DIY Electric Diwheel circular vehicle is capable of cruising at near 40MPH, invert the driver, and do lots of crazy circular movements as if you were flying a jet airplane (but you are not). This has to be one of the most creative vehicles invented in our lifetime, take a look at the video of it in action below: This honours project involved the construction of a human operated diwheel. Many diwheels in the past have been human powered or powered by IC engines. This one is purely electric. It has additional functionality lacking in other models, including inbuilt dynamic lateral stability and slosh control to prevent “gerbiling” or tumbling in aggressive braking or acceleration maneuvers. The diwheel also incorporates a unique feature that allows the rider to drive the vehicle when “upside down” – keeping the vehicle in its unstable state is achieved using a combined swingup and inversion controller. The mechanical design and some of the electronics was completed in 2009, with the majority of the electronics and control … Continue readingThis post DIY Electric Diwheel Circular Vehicle Will Make Your Puke! - DIY Pool Robot Practicing to Enter World Professional Billiard Championship! - 2011-06-07 15:48:04-04
Have you ever seen a robot playing pool? That’s right, this DIY Pool robot can play some serious game and even moves around the table to find the best angles. Check out the video after the jump, amazing. Thomas Nierhoff, a masters student at Technische Universität München (TUM), used a human-sized mobile robot with dual 7-DOF arms that’s able to manipulate a pool cue similarly to how a human does. A camera above the table tracked the positions of the balls and helped the robot plan its shots, separating each into various difficulty thresholds to help the bot decide which it should take. It managed to nail most of the easier shots about 80% of the time, which isn’t too shabby, and seems like it would probably make it competitive with the PR2. via hackedgadgets This post DIY Pool Robot Practicing to Enter World Professional Billiard Championship! was originally from zedomax.com billiard, DIY, DIY-Robot, Featured, Featured DIYs, Featured Gadgets, Featured Hacks, Gadgets, Hack, pool robot, Projects, Robots, technologyThis post DIY Pool Robot Practicing to Enter World Professional Billiard Championship! was originally from zedomax.com

But in this case, the machine comes with its own internal power source, a hand powered dynamo that produces enough juice to ring the buzzer and illuminate all of the lights when metal wand touches the wire. These are some details of the Nimble Noggin Dexterity Challenge; If the metal surfaces make contact, they complete an electronic circuit, making the android buzz and flash his lights in robotic reproof–providing all the motivation a child needs to try, try again. The robotic noggin requires no batteries or external power and has no parts that can become lost. Ages 8 … Continue readingThis post Top Five Cool Gadgets For Kids was originally from zedomax.com
