Are you running Windows 7??
Windows 7 has a minimum requirement of memory as 1GB and a 1Ghz
processor.
You most likely have an Atom Z530
It has 512 KB of cache, a 1.60 GHz speed at 533 MHz BUS, with 1 core.
The lowest Pentium Dual Core that I could find (low end processor) has
a 2.2Ghz speed at a minimum of 800 MHz BUS with 2 cores and 3MB of
cache.
The Atom is built to use less power, and you have to sacrifice speed
for power consumption. It isn't a bad processor, but to throw heavy
loads at it, then it will take literally 2 to 6 times as long to
process then a low end dual core desktop processor.
I would recommend seeing if you could upgrade the memory to at least
2GB instead of 1GB, because the 1GB is most likely being used up and
your hard drive has to compensate for the memory.
