Four Best Economy Games for Linux

Posted: 05 Aug 2011 08:12 AM PDT

Different people like different kind of games like puzzle games, Real Time Strategy or Tycoon type games. Well the question that most of the Linux users ask is "What are some good economic games for Linux?" So given below are  Best Economy games for Linux, Check them out:

OpenTTD is a Transport Tycoon game in which you are required to build a transportation system keeping in mind its efficiency and profitability and source of supply or demand. You basically have a world with many towns, mines, factories etc. It is a very detailed game and is the top rated Linux game of this type for ages.

The only downer of this game is the fact that it has a very high learning curve. Even the easiest things have many steps to accomplish them. You won't understand this game at once but you can get tutorials on getting started from website or youtube.

An amazing game but still not getting the hype that it deserves. This is because it is in Alpha status, and although this game is very entertaining but it still lacks some of the features and has limited game maps. This game revolves around trying to colonize different lands in order to create new resources like wool, lumber, and liquor.

Well the downer is that they have still not incorporated a "smart" AI to play against, and this fact makes the game entertaining but only for some time. There comes a time that after colonizing and everything, there is nothing left to do. This game has been mentioned here because it has a potential to be really good.

This game is somewhat a clone/port of the game Theme Hospital. As a matter of fact, you are required to get some files from Theme Hospital to run this game. But this is not a problem as most of the files can be gotten from the free demo, and that is linked from the pages from where CorsixTH download is. But you can not get ALL the files from the free demo, so at some point you won't be able to perform a particular task without the original game files.

4. LinCity

No, it is not a clone of SimCity! It is only a little inspired by it. In this game you are required to build a village into a flourishing metropolis. As your city gets better, you unlock fresh ways to ameliorate it. This game is easy to understand and play -- even if you are not familiar with SimCity, but satisfying your citizens within the given money would take some time and practice.
