[computer-tech-support: 8409] Re: windowsXP in deep trouble -- virus?

I don't think the drive is bad, you can boot into Safe Mode and see
something, which is better than nothing. Just pop the Windows CD into
the drive, boot from the XP CD and select new install, select a fresh
install and use the existing hard drive and existing partition making
no changes, it will prompt that it will overwrite the previous
install, this is okay. Once its finished installing your old files
will still be there, including my documents and such, just in a
different directory. Make sure when you create a new user upon
install name it something funky so that you dont use the same username
and possibly overwriting previous files.
