passwords. It's called Dogberts blog. I have been able to use the
scripts to crack HP, Dell and Toshiba passwords. It is the place to
get honest information on whether you can actually get through the
password. Don't bother trying the old shorting of the BIOS chip on
these business class machines, they are nonvolatile RAM and it don't
work. And replacing the BIOS chip is risky and very problematic. You
may have bricked it because the Thinkpad has a TP/M module in it. It
really depends. Here is a link to Dogbert, good luck
http://dogber1.blogspot.com/2009/05/table-of-reverse-engineered-bios.html
Also, here is a site I used with limited success that actually runs
the scripts
keep in mind you have to play with the syntax and caps on them but it
is worth a try.
Typically you try entering a password 3 times or more. The bios will
generate a message and a hash code. The scripts take the code and
hash out a master password. Carefully follow Dogberts instructions.
He is honest and doesn't charge money like the rest, in fact most of
the people who charge, have stolen his code that he makes public. He
don't want people to charge for his work. Hope this helps.
