This could be a multitude of things, I would seriously try to upgrade
the operating system to Windows XP, there should be media out there
for the laptop 2230CDS. Windows 2000 is not supported by microsoft
anymore so it could be a known bug that any number of updates would
have fixed, but since Microsoft does not update Win2000 anymore I
would recommend WinXP and fully update with SP3. The default RAM in
the laptop is 32MB, if this is the case it WILL run XP, but I would
recommend 64-128MB upgrade.
