You can get additional info on Stop 0xF4 at
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?query=stop+0x000000f4&catalog=LCID%3D1033&spid=&mode=r&lsc=0
Or at http://aumha.org/a/stop.htm (Click on F3 in right column)
Or at http://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Search/en-US?query=stop%200x000000f4&ac=3
Now, what this generally means is 1 of two things...
a) you have had a program/dll/etc file become corrupted. Use the
System File Checker utility to check and repair.
run sfc to check and repair the effected program. Below are the
SFC parameters:
Microsoft(R) Windows XP Windows File Checker Version 5.1
(C) 1999-2000 Microsoft Corp. All rights reserved
Scans all protected system files and replaces incorrect versions with
correct Microsoft versions.
SFC [/SCANNOW] [/SCANONCE] [/SCANBOOT] [/REVERT] [/PURGECACHE] [/
CACHESIZE=x]
/SCANNOW Scans all protected system files immediately.
/SCANONCE Scans all protected system files once at the next
boot.
/SCANBOOT Scans all protected system files at every boot.
/REVERT Return scan to default setting.
/PURGECACHE Purges the file cache.
/CACHESIZE=x Sets the file cache size.
I would suggest using the /SCANBOOT option so that it should get
through all the checking
without getting the BSOD
AND.. Lastly
b) You are having a hardware failure (most likely memory)
