ok so gmail sometimes is too big for a 256k connection, it takes long to load, and you might get those something didn't load properly error, but once it loads and gets cached it works pretty fine with that speed.
Again, if you're in a hurry and need to do something fast, use basic html version, very fast even with your connection.
