5 Underrated Facebook Features

Here are some hidden, and unnoticed Facebook features that you might want to take a look at:
1. Following news from brands that you have liked

Almost every Facebook user likes many fan pages based on their interests. All you have to do is to click on the Most Recent option at the top right and select Pages from the drop-down list. This is great for staying updated with the latest news of your interests.

2. Export birthdays in calendar format

Synchronizing your friends' birthdays to an online calendar is extremely easy now, thanks to Facebook. Simply head over to Events > Birthdays in Facebook and then you can export birthdays to any calendar app that you have like Google/Yahoo Calendar, or iCal etc. Then you have the ability to set up birthday reminders from there.

3. See how your friends see your profile

Because of the myriad privacy settings on Facebook it is not clear who can see what from your profile. From the Facebook Privacy Settings page, you click Preview my profile and then choose to see how your profile is visible for people in your friends' list.

4. See recent photos from your friends in one page

Google+ Photos page is quite easy to discover because of the photos icon that you see at the Google+ logo on top. Facebook also boasts a 'Photos' page that has all the recently uploaded photos from your friends. To go to that page click 'Photos' from the left panel in Facebook homepage.

5. Use shortcuts for fast navigation

You can use shortcuts to navigate the Facebook pages. For example, you are taken to the news feed by pressing Alt+1, and to the notifications page by pressing Alt+5. These shortcuts function in Chrome, and on Firefox, you have to press Alt+Shift instead of only Alt . You can get the full list of keyboard shortcuts from this Lifehacker article.
